You booked a trip to Beer City… buuut you don’t like beer. No worries, we’ve heard of your kind and just like everyone else, you’re welcome here. LaZoom’s expert guides have compiled a list for people like you, from cider to sober.
Can you still ride a LaZoom Tour if you don’t drink beer?
Of course you can! The LaZoom Room offers beer (ew, gross), wine, cider, seltzer, and non-alcoholic beverages to take on any of our tours or enjoy during a Sunday Service show. Even on our Fender Bender tour, which takes you and your crew to 3 breweries in Asheville, each brewery has other options to choose from besides the classic wheat juice.
Cider Folk
Noble Cider: The Cidery, located in West Asheville, is a local cidery and taproom that is pet friendly, kid friendly, and has outdoor seating! Flights are available for those of you who can’t make up your mind.
Bold Rock Hard Cider is planted on a beautiful farm just outside of Asheville in Mills River, North Carolina with a large outdoor area and gorgeous indoor seating as well. Their full food menu serving lunch and dinner makes this a worthy stop for anyone, not just you apple loving freaks.
Urban Orchard Cider Co. is nestled in the South Slope, just feet from some of the world’s best breweries and inches from some of Asheville’s best restaurants! Stop by and grab a few and enjoy a charcuterie platter while you’re at it.
Wine Folk
Though Asheville’s “wine country” is actually located about 30-45 minutes south of downtown surrounding Hendersonville, North Carolina, you don’t have to venture far to taste some of the areas’s best wines.
Botanist and Barrel has a downtown tasting room walking distance from most downtown hotels. Everything they make is locally sourced from root to stem, a process they’re proud of and has earned them a well-loved reputation across the south.
Marked Tree Vineyard has a beautiful location outside of town, but also offers their wines in their tasting room on 14 Aston Street in downtown Asheville. Pets are not permitted in their tasting rooms but are permitted on-leash outdoors at their full scale vineyard in Flat Rock, NC.
5 Walnut Wine Bar has a little bit of everything, located in the heart of downtown. Monday night specials, live music, a wide selection of wines, and even dancing – top your night off with a visit you won’t regret.
Leo’s House of Thirst in West Asheville is the perfect date night out, with a pairing menu to die for. If you’re a real wine-o, make this your main stop to impress your friends or family. Sit outside in the garden or enjoy the vibes inside, you really can’t go wrong.
Seltzer Folk
Honestly, I could send you a list, but most breweries in Asheville have already hopped on the Seltzer Train. The most popular (and canned to-go) option you’ll find around town is New Belgium’s Fruit Smash Seltzer, coming in four flavors: Pink Lemonade, Tropical Mango, Berry Blast, and Citrus Punch. You can enjoy them in person at New Belgium’s taproom in the River Arts District during our Fender Bender tour, or purchase to-go from The LaZoom Room before any tour or show.
Sober Folk
Though known for our drinking, the sober movement is stronger than you’d think in Asheville.
Sovereign Kava Bar offers an alternative to alcohol, their signature tea that’s made in the traditional South Pacific ceremony style right here in Asheville. Their space is dog friendly and also offers a full bar and other non-alcoholic options for your less-experimental friends.
The Mule Tasting Room by Devil’s Foot offers the widest selection of non-alcoholic options in town all in one place. From craft sodas to non-alcoholic cocktails, their tasting room opens the door to the world of sobriety, no matter where you are on your journey.
